Do you have something to look forward to?
A life without major problems is not always a life that feels alive.
Sometimes everything is “fine.” Work is moving, relationships are stable and health is manageable. Yet Monday and Friday begin to feel remarkably similar, and the honest answer to “How are things?” is simply, “Same as usual.”
There is nothing wrong with calm. But calm and inertia can look alike from the outside. One question helps distinguish them: Do you have anything to look forward to?
It does not need to be a grand dream
Anticipation does not require a major trip, a promotion or the beginning of a new life. It might be a restaurant you want to try, a book waiting to be read, a conversation with a friend or a Saturday morning kept entirely for yourself.
Create one bright point
Open your calendar and place something you genuinely want to do within the next fourteen days. It does not need to be useful, impressive or approved by anyone else.
Make it specific enough to anticipate: choose the day, time and place. Life may not need a dramatic reinvention. It may simply need evidence that the future still contains something you chose.
